“I assume she'll be fined, and then she won't be able to run for the Public Chamber, which is what all activists want,” Kuzmina's ally Sergey Ostrovsky told V1.
On July 16, 2026, Kuzmina and four other people were detained while recording an appeal to Investigative Committee head Alexander Bastrykin. The activists complained that Volgograd officials were using fuel cards to fill up without restrictions, while ordinary residents were being refused fuel.
On August 31, Kuzmina was detained for a second time at the Volgograd Oblast Court, where a hearing was being held for another participant in the appeal. Law enforcement officers claimed that Kuzmina had failed to report to the police as requested. However, the court released the activist because the documentation was incomplete.
